Free Association Writing

Apparently this (fancy blog title) is a Psychological technique to just go blank with a pen and a paper and let your subconscious take over, which is pretty much what I do on this blog. I have always emptied out my heart here while some crazy loud music played in the background (viz my headphones). There is nothing I love more than writing...just plain, free style writing, about nothing in particular, while I listen to the latest song which got me addicted. There is peace, freedom and solitude in doing so. Solitude is something which my soul specially craves for and which is extremely hard to come across in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives.

It is the letting go which is tough. Letting go of inhibitions. Letting out what's inside. Letting our spirits fly high. Letting our thoughts take their own form. Letting go of control, anger, people, heartbreaks, hurt, pain, happiness, achievements, success, sadness, humiliation, darkness, light, learning, unlearning, finding out who we are and then erasing the board and starting over, turning over a new page, moving on, moving in a new direction. All this and more. Challenging yet simple.

What is it about late nights that make artists and writers (such as yours truly) dance with glee as their imagination, (which seemed like a sleeping giant throughout the day) soars? Routine kills creativity, at least in my case. Routine destroys all things good!

Did I introduce to my new love? (This is free association writing. Hope you aren't expecting me to stick to a topic or theme)  I am obsessed, possessed and completely consumed by my love for Psychology. It is simply amazing in every which way! Don't believe me? Read a simple book about it. Start my way, with the legendary book 'Interpretation of Dreams' by Sigmund Freud or you could go the traditional way, by reading NCERT textbooks (which are some of the most well written books out there) and then move on to read books by Baron, Morgan and King, et al
Do share your experience!
Ciao
